We Are: Flawed

We are all birthed with the same misconstrued curse of human nature and her inevitable imperfections.  Allowing this distorted perception of perfection to be something we torture ourselves for, wage war within ourselves for, bleed for, and kill for.  Continuing to strive for perfection slowly hinders our ability to perceive and accept the universe in her true form: a chaotic display of glory.

The ridiculous nature of standards we allow ourselves to succumb to are set by others cursed with the same misconceptions of true perfection and beauty.  “Beauty is defined as the quality in a person or thing that is pleasing or stimulating to the mind.” (Dictionary.com)

Just as the storm buds rainbows, fire stimulates rebirth and growth, and violent collisions of hydrogen atoms create the cosmos; we take our follies, our flaws, our curses and find perfection in the imperfections.

Fact:  “All of this matter-regardless of how hot or cold, rough or smooth, abundant or extremely rare-is made of the same basic stuff: the same quarks and electrons that make up the atoms in your body.” (Gates, Evalyn.  “Einstein’s Telescope: The Hunt for Dark Matter and Dark Energy in the Universe.” Page 9.)

Fact:  “The value of a diamond is based on […] flaws.” (cheap-diamond.com/diamond-qualities/)

  2. Hi Jess! Thank you for visiting and following “Musings of a Horse Mom.” … You feel like a kindred spirit to me, ready to face life head on and willing to take all the the bends and curves in the road as they come. … To me life is about growth and expansion, seeing the silver lining in every cloud and honouring the lessons life teaches us in good and bad times. Bless you for your insight and a desire to share. … Be well, Dorothy 🙂

  4. Wow, thank you for following Shadows.

I have only read a bit of your work but already I have the impression you are one who enjoys exploring the deep things of the soul, be it joy or pain. I shall enjoy hearing from you often.
